Vivo X300 Series to Feature a 200MP Primary Camera and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Chipset
Vivo has officially begun to tease the camera specifications of its upcoming Vivo X300 and X300 Pro flagship smartphones, which are expected to launch in China in October 2025. This marks a significant step up from the X200 series, which used a 200MP sensor only for the periscope telephoto lens on its top-end variants.
A Custom-Built 200MP Primary Sensor
The highlight of the Vivo X300’s camera system is the new 200MP HPB sensor, a customized version of Samsung’s HP9 sensor. The “B” in the name stands for “Blue,” signifying a partnership between Vivo (often referred to as the “Blue Factory”) and Samsung to create a sensor exclusive to the brand.
23mm 200MP Ultra-Clear Mode
This mode captures high-resolution, wide-angle shots with exceptional detail.
50mm 50MP High-Resolution Mode
This mode is specifically designed for high-quality portrait photography, providing a more natural and flattering perspective.
Advanced Features
The camera will also feature CIPA 4.5-level optical image stabilization (OIS), a blue glass element, and a Zeiss T coating to minimize lens flare and ghosting, ensuring clearer images.
Leaked Details on the Pro Variant and Other Sensors
While the primary sensor for the standard model has been confirmed, leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station have shed light on the rest of the camera system for both the X300 and the X300 Pro.
Vivo X300 (Standard Model)
- Periscope Telephoto: A Sony IMX885 sensor with a 1/2-inch size, paired with a 70mm lens for a 3x optical zoom. This sensor will use a unique light-folding prism design and is also expected to support telephoto macro photography.
- Ultra-Wide: A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a rumored Samsung JN1 or JN5 sensor.
Vivo X300 Pro (Leaked Specifications)
The X300 Pro is said to feature an even more advanced camera setup. It could potentially come with a Sony LYT-828 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide unit, and a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor.
Dimensity 9500 Chipset and Other Features
Both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are expected to be among the first smartphones to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is rumored to be officially unveiled on September 22, 2025. This new flagship SoC will bring significant performance and efficiency gains.
While official details on the India launch are yet to be announced, industry sources suggest that the Vivo X300 series could arrive in the Indian market by December 2025. The launch of this series is expected to solidify Vivo’s position in the premium smartphone segment, particularly for mobile photography enthusiasts.
